Chief Justice Ann McClure and her husband, David, have been married for 30 years and have a daughter, Kinsey, and a son, Scott. David is a family law specialist of national acclaim and a recipient of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists' prestigious Sam Emison Award. Kinsey is a graduate of El Paso High School and Texas Tech University, where she received her bachelor's degree in public relations. She lives in Alpine, Texas, where she is the general manager of the renowned Reata. A skilled equestrienne, Kinsey has enjoyed competing in reining, dressage and roping. She discovered her love of horses during the many summers she spent at Prude Ranch in Fort Davis. Kinsey is quite proud of her mare, Diamond Lil, and her rescue dogs, Kayla, Deacon and Monkey.
Scott is a graduate of Franklin High School and the University of Texas at Austin where he received his bachelor's degree in human biology. Selected for membership in Phi Beta Kappa, he graduated magna cum laude in 2008. He is 2012 graduate of the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a second year resident in emergency medicine based at Parkland Hospital. He and his wife, Laura Hudson McClure, were married in Dallas on June 16, 2012. Laura is a graduate of Rice University and Texas Women's University, where she received her master's degree in nutrition. She is a registered dietician at Plano Presbyterian Hospital. They have a yellow Labrador named Tex.
Chief Justice McClure's mother, Patricia Ann Crawford, moved to El Paso in 1991. A native of northern Kentucky, she and her late husband William Crawford were married for 34 years before his death in 1986, just six months after Scott was born.
